These terms apply when you buy a publication from Workbench Press. They are written to be understood on one reading. Where a term limits what you can expect from us, it says so in the same plain language as the parts that favour us.
Who you are buying from
The publisher is Workbench Press, a sole proprietorship operated by Devan Dhir in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Payment is taken by Stripe, which acts as merchant of record for the transaction. In practical terms, Stripe is the seller for tax purposes, issues your receipt and invoice, collects and remits any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you are, and handles payment disputes. Workbench Press remains responsible for the publications themselves and for supporting them.
What you are buying
AI Automation for Small Business — the complete bundle, CAD $449, one payment, no subscription. It contains:
- Five implementation manuals, plus The Ground Floor primer and the Build Notes platform supplement — seven PDFs, 455 pages.
- Forty working files: spreadsheets, workflow specifications, templates and test sets, in .xlsx, .docx and .csv format.
Everything arrives as a single ZIP download. Prices are in Canadian dollars. Any sales tax that applies where you live is calculated and added by Stripe at checkout and shown before you pay.
Delivery
Your download is available immediately after payment, on the confirmation page and by email. The link works for seven days; the files themselves never expire and are yours to keep and print.
If the link expires, the email never arrives, or a file will not open, that is a support matter, not a refund matter, and it gets fixed. Email hello@workbenchpress.com and we will reissue your download. There is no limit on how many times, and no time limit on asking.
Refunds
You receive the complete files the moment you pay, so refunds are not offered as a matter of course. This is why a full chapter is available free before you buy: read it, and you will know within ten minutes whether the series is written for you.
Two honest qualifications:
- Stripe is the merchant of record, so Stripe's own consumer terms also apply to your purchase, and Stripe may issue a refund independently of us. We do not control that and will not pretend otherwise.
- Consumer law where you live may give you rights that these terms cannot remove. Nothing here is intended to, and where local law conflicts with this section, local law wins.
If something has gone genuinely wrong, write to us. A policy is not a reason to ignore a real problem.
Your licence
You get a permanent, non-exclusive licence for one reader in one business. Under it you may:
- read, print and keep the files indefinitely, on any device you own;
- adapt the spreadsheets, specifications and templates for your own operations, including changing them however you like;
- use anything you build from them commercially, with no royalty and no attribution required.
You may not:
- resell, sublicense, publish or give away the files, in whole or in part;
- share them with people outside your business, or upload them anywhere others can obtain them;
- use them to deliver paid training, coaching or consulting to third parties. A separate trainer licence may be offered in future — ask.
Copyright in the publications remains with Workbench Press. Buying a copy buys the licence above, not the work.
Updates
Build Notes is the platform supplement, and it is reissued when the tools it describes change. New editions of the supplement are sent to buyers at no cost for the life of Edition 1 of the series. Corrections to the books are published with the next edition of the affected book and sent to buyers.
We do not promise a specific update schedule, because a promise like that is worth nothing without a plan to fund it.

Support covers the material: questions about what a chapter means, corrections, and files that did not arrive or will not open. It is not an implementation service. It does not include building your workflow for you, reviewing your business's data, or debugging third-party software. Those are real services and this is not their price.
What these books do not claim
This section matters more than the rest, so it is stated directly.
- No result is guaranteed. The books give you a measurement method and the arithmetic to apply it. What your business saves depends on your business, and one of the books is blunt about how often recovered hours never turn into money at all.
- The examples are illustrative. Northline Mechanical is a fictional company. Its figures are internally consistent and independently recalculated, but they are not a measurement of any real business and not evidence of what you will achieve.
- This is not professional advice. Nothing in the publications is legal, tax, accounting, financial or regulatory advice. Where a matter needs a licensed professional, the books say so, and you should take that at face value.
- Third-party tools are outside our control. The supplement describes software published by other companies. Their interfaces, pricing, limits and terms change without reference to us, and their behaviour is their responsibility.
- You remain responsible for what you build. Every workflow in these books is designed to stop and show its work before anything consequential happens. If you remove those review steps, what the system then does is your decision and your liability.
Limit of liability
The publications are provided as they are. To the fullest extent the law allows, Workbench Press is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost data or business interruption, arising from your use of the material. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid.
Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction. If you bought as a consumer elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your own country.
Changes
These terms may change for future purchases. The version that applies to you is the one published when you bought, and the version number and date at the top identify it. Changes are not applied retroactively to a purchase already made.
